Fabio Tarantino
Director of Recruitment Services
As the Director of Recruitment, Fabio leads the recruiting division. He brings specific expertise and experience in finding and evaluating talent. Fabio’s 17 years in the search business uniquely prepares him for his role at ASJ and with each assignment he utilizes an individualized and collaborative approach aimed at uncovering highly talented individuals. Prior to joining ASJ, Fabio spent several years with an executive search firm. Focused on mid to senior level search assignments, he has worked with some of the most recognizable companies in North America, consulting on a range of highly specialized, difficult-to-find positions. He is thrilled to be part of such an intelligent and hardworking team at ASJ, to be in a position where he is helping candidates in different stages of their career. Fabio loves people,  business and most of all he has a passion for assisting individuals with their career goals. Fabio believes family always comes first. He is happily married to his high school sweetheart for the past 19 years. He is an avid suffering Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Fabio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University.

Martin Eliesen

Martin offers more than forty years of experience in North American training, mentoring, coaching and management. Guided by his belief and passion for what is possible, his coaching style is centred in self-discovery, awareness of our personal values and strengths, a discovery of what fulfilment means to each of us and a plan to reach our goals with a view of minimizing obstacles that hinder our growth.

Bachelor of Science in Bio-Chemistry from Sir George Williams University, studies in coaching at Cornell University, Interpersonal Relations at The Personal Development Institute, Landmark Forum, Sales Training Certification and Professional Coach, International Coach Federation (Class of 2016); Professional Coach Training Program, Adler School (Class of 2015).
As a sales professional, Martin has specialized in securing net new multi-million dollar engagements from firms such as Deloitte, Aviva Canada, Canadian Tire, Scotiabank, SONY, TD Bank, Babcock & Wilcox, SNC-Lavalin O&M, among others.  He has held positions from VP Sales, Dir. Of Training North America to Enterprise Manager of Fortune companies. His teaching and coaching methods result in a sustainable skills transfer to his clients.  Top 1% of all BD enterprise sales leaders in N America.

In addition to being a Raptors fan, Martin is a corporate supporter of the Terry Fox Foundation, coaches foreign physicians to qualify to practice in Canada, investing, gardening and as well as a passion for learning and growth. 

Adam Somers

Combining knowledge, integrity and expertise gained over the past 20 years in the Canadian marketplace, Adam Somers provides a professional service level that is unparalleled in Executive Search. Drawing upon his extensive industry experience as well as his financial services background with CIBC Wood Gundy, Adam consistently exceeds the expectations of both clients and candidates by successfully utilizing leading edge technologies, marketing strategies, and negotiating skills to expertly fill roles. Simply put, Adam has refined the art of human resource capital management and brings with him a breadth of knowledge that can help companies across Canada to hire and retain the best talent for their organizations. Recruiting is in Adam’s DNA and shows through in his passion, work ethic, and high energy commitment to always providing the results needed by all involved parties. Outside of the office, Adam is a proud father who enjoys the fact that each day is spent living the dream of running his own business. He also graduated college with a Hotel Management Diploma as a result of his love for travel and takes every opportunity he can to see amazing places around the world. As a huge foodie, Adam also enjoys dining on virtually every manner of dish he comes across during his frequent national and international adventures.  


Tanya Schwartz-Johnston
Vice President
Born in London, Ontario, Tanya Schwartz started her career in sales and hospitality at a very young age and never looked back. Tanya graduated with her French degree from Huron College, University of Western Ontario. Tanya soon discovered her passion, sales and recruitment. Tanya’s main area of expertise over the years has been placing candidates in the apparel industry, what can we say, she has a passion for fashion. Although the fashion industry is Tanya’s “bread and butter”, Tanya has had great success filling a variety of Administrative roles and any other tough search that comes her way. Tanya started her career in the search business working for a very large and well known North American firm where she was quickly promoted to a Regional Manager and then on to National Sales. Following her work at AppleOne, Tanya moved to Drake International where she was Vice President of Sales and led the Sales Team at the Canadian Flagship office. Following a one year contract, Tanya worked for a top contingency firm for 9 years where she excelled before deciding to make the move to ASJ. Tanya has won several awards over the years and loves what she does.

Stewart Somers
Secretary-Treasurer
Stewart, a founding partner of ASJ, is its Secretary-Treasurer. Since 1976 Stewart has been providing corporate finance and turn-around advisory services to assist public and private corporations in planning and implementing strategies for their business operations in North America and Europe. In his capacity as an officer and director of numerous publically traded companies (TSX and NASDAQ), he gained the requisite restructuring and operational expertise in such varied business engagements as distribution, farming, food processing, franchising, hotel/property management, light manufacturing, mortgage financing, multi location retail operations and real estate development. Semi retired in 2013, Stewart has refocused his time to his passion for golf and skiing at the Donalda Club and Beaver Valley Ski Club, his grandchildren and a few clients who are facing significant challenges and requested his help. Stewart is Chairman of the Board of Zenn Motor Company (TSX-V), and continues to be a director of numerous private corporations. He obtained his chartered accountancy designation with Coopers and Lybrand in 1969 after graduating from the University of Toronto.  

David Johnston 
Co-Founder
David’s career in Search spans more than 15 years. He specializes in the Sales marketplace, working with Inside Sales up to VP and Director’s of sales in numerous marketplaces. David takes pride in dealing with his clients and candidates and relates to both with the utmost professionalism and integrity. His approach is simple; he “headhunts” to provide his clients the Top 5% caliber candidates for their team. Prior to entering the search business, David had a successful career in B2B sales within the Office Products industry and Industrial marketplace. He won many awards such as;  President’s Clubs, Rookie of the Year and Top Rep in Canada to name a few. David’s goal is to help build companies talent depth and help individuals build their successful careers!
